Chapter 5: Building Your First Algorithm
In Strategy Quant X, open the custom project (e.g., gold workflow) from the previous step and click “Start” to generate trading strategies. Aim to create 1,000 strategies, which may take 24-48 hours depending on your computer’s capacity. Once complete, select the best strategy based on four criteria: high fitness rating (e.g., 92 or above), high number of trades (around 1,000), a smooth equity curve (consistent year-over-year growth), and recent good performance (e.g., strong results in 2020-2021). Save the chosen strategy as an MT4 Expert Advisor, preparing it for deployment.
